To Foreign Nationals Living in Oita Prefecture
The Government of Japan has made the decision to give out a 100,000-yen-per-person handout to all people who are struggling due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19).
● People Who Can Receive the Payment
Those who fit both criteria below can receive the payment.
1. Has been on the Basic Resident Register as of April 27, 2020.
2. Holds a valid Residence Card as of April 27, 2020.
● A Person to Collect the Total Payment
If you live with your family, elect a head of the household to receive the whole amount of the cash handout.
● How to Apply for the Payment
①The payment can be applied online.
You will need your My Number Card for this method. If you do not own a My Number Card, you cannot apply online.
※Please fill in your information on the Maina Portal (i.e. designated page for the special cash handout).
②The payment can also be applied via post.
１．You will receive your application form from the local government of your residing municipality.
２. You will need to provide copies of documents that can be used as proof of your identity.
e.g. Copy of your My Number Card, driver’s license, Health Insurance Card, Residence Card or any other relevant documents.
３. A copy of information for the bank account to which the payment will go.
e.g. A copy of a bank book, a cash card or other relevant documents.
４．Post the completed application form and copies of relevant documents to your local government.
※There is a deadline to the application.
The deadline is set to be within 3 months after the starting date of the application.
※Different municipalities may have different requirements for filling out the application.
