The Beppu Argerich's Music Festival commenced on April 14th. The theme of this year's festival, in it's eighth year running, is 'Music Wind from South America.' Concerts will be held on the stages in the cities of Beppu and Oita. In addition to the annual events, such as the Master Class, a concert of young local musicians, and a free concert for children, the main orchestral performances by a magnificent line-up of artists, which can only be heard at this festival, are as impressive as ever. An orchestra concert which featured the renowned performers Martha Argerich, Stephen Kovacevich, and Mischa Maisky was held on the 16th. The festivities will continue until the 23rd. No music fan can resist such a flood of sound and rhythm.
